took LOA from school today to go down and support the st. margs B div’14 in their first ever finals match. had to fight so hard for the LOA. talked to the CCA head, got rejected; moved on to his boss, and still got rejected. finally sent an email to the DP, and got the much needed approval.
rushed down to the venue, and luckily was there before the match started. fumbled about with the seating arrangements, and while we were transiting from one place to another (for the third time), Bukit Merah scored against st. margs. I think that was the one goal that really demolished their spirits; you could tell that they were moving more sluggishly after that goal.
but they put up a really good fight, even though they were slightly frazzled. they still kept their composure, and didn’t give up till the very last second. was cheering so hard for them throughout the match, and really felt very emotional when they finally scored their first goal against bukit merah. they fought really hard and pressed on and eventually managed a second goal.
although they lost 2-13, but words can’t express how proud I am of them and how much I love the st margs girls. they weren’t just our training partners, they were our friends and our sisters, and even our seniors in terms of floorball. we went through the same shit together under the same coaches, and we cheered each other on. we shed the same sweat, tears and blood while working for a common goal. and now that their seasons have ended on a fairly good note, our trainings with them have come to a stop as well. I will definitely miss the good times training with them, from the first time I was so scared and in awe of them cause of their skills, to the friendships that we have forged over time (and still in awe of their skills).
and now it’s time for us to take center stage, and upset the other major powerhouses. feeling so inspired after watching st margs play, and I will do my best to not disappoint those who depend on me. playing to the best of my abilities, and we’re gonna make sure to bring that trophy back. for the team, for the coaches, for the st margs team, and to those who ever dared to look down upon us. because we owe them that much.
"we might not have talent, but we have our fitness."
time to rock and roll.
